Here we will show you how to install Carbon Fibre vinyl on your car bonnet (hood), you can use the same method for any of our vinyl sheets to wrap your bonnet or any other part of your car.

Step One is very important to the installation process, so lease do follow it.

1.cf_Installation_step1-1 Start by cleaning the install area with· wax and grease remover, and then drying the surface with micro fibre towel. Follow by misting the surface with a mixture of 25% Isopropyl Alcohol and 75% water mixed in a spray bottle. Then dry the surface. Make sure to clean the underside of the hood where you will be wrapping the material. Always use a squeegee with a friction sleeve or wrapped with T-shirt material to avoid scratching the material. Application temperature should be a minimum temperature of 10 degrees to a maximum of 38 degrees Celsius. Remove windshield nozzles.

2. cf_Installation_step2-2Icf_Installation_step2-1nstallation Step 2 Image (Optional But recommended for car body installation) Use the 3M 94 primer, paint the outside edges and inside the lower section of the body style lines.

3.cf_Installation_step3-1 Using· 3/4" masking tape, secure the material to the centre of the hood running the tape the length of the hood. Starting the application on the driver's side of the hood we will also place masking tape on the passenger side fender to secure the material. Placing the left side on top of the right, remove the paper carrier by cutting the carrier with a scissors to expose the adhesive. Never tear the carrier leaving paper partials that can become trapped underneath the graphics.

4. cf_Installation_step4-1cf_Installation_step4-2Holding the material slightly above the hood, so the material does not come in contact with the vehicle surface before you are ready. Using the squeegee to force the adhesive down to the hood, the installer needs to make one long run the full length of the hood. Using about half the blade width of the squeegee, continue to the outside of the hood, using the blade to force down the adhesive. Never drag the squeegee across the material use the point of the blade to force down the graphics.

5. cf_Installation_step5-1cf_Installation_step5-2As you approach body lines never bridge over the cavity but always apply the graphics using the 1/4 the blade forcing the material down onto the· metal.

6. cf_Installation_step6-1cf_Installation_step6-2If you run into wrinkles, first pull back the material, allow to sit for a few minutes and in most cases material will return to original shape, then stretch and re-apply. If the material is stretched too far you may have to use a heat gun to pull the wrinkle out as you re-apply.

7. Remove the masking tape, and then remove paper carrier about 50% exposing half the adhesive to the outside of the hood. Keeping the adhesive from touching the metal, apply pressure with the squeegee and continue the same process of step 4 thru 6 as you did on the driver’s side.

8. cf_Installation_step8-1Make 45 degree cuts at corners so you do not overlap the material.

9. cf_Installation_step9-1Using an exacto knife cut out material and install windshield wiper nozzles.

10. cf_Installation_step10-2Once you have successfully completed the installation use a scissors to trim off the excess material, approximately 3/4" past the edge for folding under the hood.

11. Inspect the completed application looking for air bubbles and imperfections. Small bubbles can be removed by piercing them with a needle or syringe. Heat can be used but care must be taken not to melt or distorb.
